Fiskars.

The most common image that pops into your head when someone mentions the word “hybrid” is the classic, boxy, somewhat geekishly looking car that has the size of a go-cart and the power of one also. A new line of cars has developed in this changing automotive market called the Fiskar. CNet reviews state that “the world of plug-in hybrids is about to get a whole lot sexier.” The car is going to be debuted at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, and will offer styling, power, and efficiency like the United States has never seen before
The cars styling for a hybrid is remarkable. It has 22” wheels giving it that modern look and LED taillights making the car light up the night. It has a streamline appearance and the common flow of European Supercars.
The power plant in the car was not overlooked either. Even though this car is a hybrid it is still packing a punch while pulling over 400 horsepower out of the Electric and 2.0 liter supercharged, direct injected engine. The driver will have the choice of switching between two modes of driving. The first mode is what the designers call “Stealth Drive”. This is the configuration that allows for the car to get maximum efficiency while driving and very quiet, also, to give it that “stealth” feel. If the driver feels the need for power, and does not care for the fuel mileage anymore, the flip of a paddle sends the car into “Sport Drive” which allows the car full power. This switch unleashes all of the cars 400 horses, leaving almost all other cars behind.
This new car is sure to keep car enthusiasts guessing on what is coming next in the way of stylish hybrids. It has made the car industry rethink how a hybrid should be presented, and has steered them away from a cliché hybrid look. I just hope more of these companies push the envelope on developing great looking, efficient vehicles.

NEW TIMES!!!

So in the last post Eleanor, I promised my readers a future blog on the newer Shelby mustangs and I am finally getting around to it. This car will be a classic 50 years from now I can promise you that. It just blows my mind how they can make a car so great, yet so affordable and soon you will also feel the same way as me. This car was of course inspired by the earlier 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, but it has its own taste to it. In the new age of vehicles bigger is BETTER. So the designers broadened up the stance of the 08’ Shelby and bulked up just about everything else to create the new age of muscle.

The Shelby is different from other Mustang. It is the baddest and best they have, Shelbys aren’t just any mustang they are the mustang. For starters, they are the only Mustangs to feature a supercharged engine. The wheels are equipped with 14 inch rotors in the front and 12 inch discs in that total basically an immediate stop anywhere on the track (rotors and disc). The rims are custom 10 spoke with the SVT symbol in the center that add a nice touch to the muscle feel of the car.

Okay so here is the nitty gritty on the 2008 Shelby GT500. The 5.4 liter V-8 pours out over 500 horsepower. It comes with a 6 speed manual transmission. It also comes with a fully custom exhaust system and the patient Shelby paint scheme. And the best part is the new Eleanor tops out around 150 miles per hour.

Okay, I know what you’re thinking now. With a throe bred this good the price has to be around one hundred thousand dollars. I am actually proud to say that this car that is 500 HP is only $46,500. That is a complete steal cars this nice and fast are not $46,500 dollars. So this is why this is THE affordable car that can blow your socks off. It’s a sure win with any buyer so when you get out of college I would highly recommend putting the Shelby GT500 on your list.
